PLACEMENT CLASSES:
Placement classes are required for all NEW students ages 10+ who would like to participate in the Advanced Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level classes. Prospective students are asked to participate in a class for placement during the last two weeks of the Fall 2009 session.

$204 - Per class unless otherwise noted (see below)
$510 - Pointe package (includes 2 Ballet classes plus Pointe class)

DANCE CLASS DRESS CODE
Appropriate attire serves both instructor and student by eliminating distraction and contributes to a focused and respectful learning atmosphere.
MODERN:
CREATIVE DANCE:
Stretchy, comfortable clothing. Slippers are not required.
INTRO TO MODERN:
Stretchy, comfortable clothing. Hair secured away from face.
BEGINNERS MODERN:
Leotard and tights. Hair secured away from face.
ADVANCED BEGINNER THROUGH ADVANCED MODERN:
*Black, high-backed, camisole-style leotard. Black, footless tights, leggings or form-fitting black Jazz pants. Hair secured away from face.
JAZZ:
DANCES OF AFRICA/INTRO TO JAZZ:
Stretchy, comfortable clothing. Hair secured away from face.
BEGINNERS THROUGH ADVANCED JAZZ:
Leotard (can vary in style and color) and black Jazz pants. Black, split-sole canvas/leather Jazz shoes. Hair secured away from face.
BALLET
PRE-BALLET/ CREATIVE DANCE:
Stretchy, comfortable clothing. Slippers are not required.
INTRO AND BEGINNERS BALLET:
Girls: Pink or white leotards and tights. Pink ballet slippers.
Boys: Black leggings. White t-shirts. White ballet slippers.
ADVANCED BEGINNER THROUGH ADVANCED BALLET:
Girls: *Black, high-backed, camisole-style leotard. (Or Black, simple, long-sleeved leotard recommended for winter.) Pink, convertible tights. Pink, canvas, split-sole ballet shoes. Boys: Black leggings/tights. (Black shorts can be worn over tights, optional.) Form-fitting white shirt. White ankle socks and white, canvas, split-sole ballet shoes.
*Please note:
The black, high-backed, camisole style leotard will be used for performance, therefore all other designs are unacceptable. Form-fitting layers for warmth are acceptable, in black or in a solid color, but they will be removed early in the class. Ballet slippers must be canvas and split-sole; leather slippers are too sticky on our Marley floors, and full-sole slippers inhibit the development of sensation and greater articulation in the feet. Once a pair of tights develops runs, it needs to be replaced. Hair for ballet is a neat bun, with bangs or short pieces of front hair held back from the face. There are several great demonstrations of bun technique on YouTube-type in "ballet bun."
We recommend buying your dance clothes online. If you are ordering during a rush season though, these basics may be back-ordered for as much as a month.
